W13.2 SHAO TIANYI (소염일)

 1.Summary 

The scientific community (especially since the late 19th century) has divided many biological species into two mutually reinforcing categories based on the dominant interpretation of genetic material, reproductive capacity and genital components (politically, religiously and scientifically established).These classification schemes promote the idea of both sexes: "male" and "female".Gender differences (whether reflected in later physiology or not) often vary by social, environmental, historical background and/or culture, suggesting that they are social structures.There is a persistent gap in progress between men and women with regard to occupational and educational attainment.The article also discusses the prevalence of gender discrimination, including beliefs about gender superiority and discrimination in various areas such as wealth distribution, employment, etc.Gender discrimination is even more prevalent in the media, especially in sports reporting.Another common form of gender discrimination is violence, especially against women and transgender people.



2.What I Learned

Female teachers who were highly anxious in elementary school passed math anxiety on to girls in the classroom, not boys.At the beginning of the course, there was no difference in math anxiety between boys and girls, but in classes taught by female math anxiety teachers, girls developed math anxiety while boys did not.This highlights the importance of eliminating prejudices inherent in the education system in order to promote gender equality in professional fields and academia.


3.Questions

Gender discrimination persists in the workplace, and many women face unfair treatment at work, such as pay gaps, limited opportunities for advancement and gender bias in the workplace.What specific measures can be taken to effectively reduce or eliminate gender discrimination in the workplace?
