1.Summary

A relatively new area of research in the social sciences focuses on technology, including mobile phones, video games, virtual worlds, social networking services, and digital media.Technology is a collection of techniques, methods, or processes used to produce goods or services or to achieve an objective, such as scientific investigation. They can facilitate the production of goods or services or help to achieve goals.A well-known example of modern technology is mobile phones.Humans increasingly rely on it and use it to perform various tasks.People post photos of themselves or friends on social media because they don't want to feel excluded from the social groups that matter to them, causing them to engage in the same type of behavior and posting photos on social networks as proof of their behavior.

2.What I Learned?

With the rise of social networks, problems arise, and they take time away from other activities such as work and learning. Some studies have found that college students who spend more time on Facebook perform worse at school, although this seems to vary by college tenure — older adults are better at managing their time on Facebook and using the social network more effectively than freshmen.Just because interactions on social networks are digital doesn't mean inequalities in the normal world don't exist on social networks either.Excessive play of video games also leads to deterioration of adolescent health.

3.Questions

How do you see the impact of the Internet and the virtual world on modern ways of social interaction, in particular their role in changing patterns of interaction, the formation and maintenance of social networks, and individual identities?

Comments

  1. The Internet has made communication between people faster and more convenient. Instant messaging tools (such as WeChat and WhatsApp) and social media platforms (such as Facebook and Twitter) have broken geographical restrictions, allowing people to communicate anywhere and promoting interpersonal communication around the world.
