Summary

Religion, as an important part of society and culture, has its unique content in terms of values, beliefs and so on.The historical culture and system of religion are relatively large. The church system, for example, refers to all religions included in a society, and they strive to provide their followers with a more diverse, all-encompassing worldview.Denomination, for example, is a continuum between church and denomination. The church has a monopoly in the local community. The functional role of religion is equally diverse, and in social terms, Marx considers religion to be the "opium of the masses" usually as an instrument of social control. But Durkheim believes religious struggles are linked to a broader culture and society.

What I learned

I learned about the important composition of religion in social development, the birth of Protestantism and the influence and value of traditional religions on society.Religion, on the one hand, promotes the legitimization of the existing social order, on the other hand, stagnates ideas in some areas. But with the development of society, religious systems and branches have become more complex, and specialized theological subjects have also been created.

Question

Theological subjects are constantly expanding, is the study of theology based on theory or myth?
