1、summary
Social network theory is an important tool in social science to study individual, group, organization and social relations. It emphasizes understanding social phenomena through relational attributes rather than individual characteristics. Historically, the concept of social networks can be traced back to the work of scholars such as Durkheim and Taunis. In the 1930s, Moreno and others developed the field in psychology and anthropology. Social network analysis was further developed by sociologists at Harvard University in the 1970s and expanded rapidly in the late 1990s due to the use of web data. Levels of analysis are divided into micro (individuals and small groups), meso (organizations and inter-group relationships), and macro (large-scale networks and complex systems).
2、Interesting place
The interesting thing about social networks is that they reveal the complex and diverse relationships between people. It shows the individual interaction at the micro level, the organizational connection at the meso level and the social structure at the macro level, revealing the network self-organization and emergent behavior. By analyzing social networks, we can understand the spread of information, the spread of influence, social support systems, and group dynamics to solve practical problems ranging from marketing to public health.
3、problem
Are there distinct communities or groups within the network, and how are they formed?
