 1.Summary

Politics is the process by which a group of people make social and economic decisions. While this term typically applies to the behavior within civil governments, politics also exists within all human groups, including businesses, academic institutions, and religious organizations. It encompasses social relationships involving authority or power, the regulation of political units, and the methods and strategies used to formulate and implement social policies. Political power is a form of authority held by a particular group within society, allowing them to manage the distribution of public resources. Political power is not limited to heads of state; the degree to which individuals or groups possess this power correlates with their ability to exert social influence formally or informally. Therefore, power is often defined as the ability to influence the behavior of others, with or without resistance. In government, authority is often used interchangeably with "power"; however, they have different meanings. Authority refers to the claim of rights to legitimacy, legality, and the exercise of power. Max Weber identified and distinguished three types of legitimate authority: rational-legal authority, traditional authority, and charismatic authority. Political systems include monarchy, democracy, totalitarianism, oligarchy, communist states, and theocracy.

2.Interesting points

Although politics is typically associated with the internal operations of governments, it also exists within various human groups such as businesses, academic institutions, and religious organizations, indicating that power and authority play significant roles across diverse domains of society.
