1. Summary


Sociology is a discipline that studies human social life. It aims to develop and refine a body of knowledge about the structure and activities of human society through empirical investigation and critical analysis methods. It covers a wide range of topics and methods, from face-to-face interactions at the micro level to broad social processes at the macro level. Topics of interest in sociology include social relationships, social stratification, social interaction, culture, deviant behavior, among others, and methods include both qualitative and quantitative research techniques. Sociology originated in the early 19th century in response to the challenges of modernity, increased mobility, and technological advancements leading to encounters with different cultures and societies. Founders of early sociology include Auguste Comte, among others, who had a profound influence on the development of sociology. Sociology is of significant importance in understanding and addressing social issues.


2. Interesting Point


In sociology, both quantitative and qualitative methods are employed to study various aspects of human society, focusing on topics such as social relationships, social stratification, culture, deviant behavior, and more.


3. Question


How does sociology address the challenges facing contemporary society, such as poverty, inequality and social injustice?
